Diane Ravitch is in the front ranks of those working to Stop Common Core even though she originally worked on the Common Core standards.  That fact speaks volumes.  She is an education historian and former Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education.  Although I do not always agree with her stance politically, her insight and analysis of public education in America is profound and far-ranging.  Check out her blog because it is worth reading on a frequent basis.
