Amnesty Bill – GOP Betrayal

Shame on Michigan’s 6 GOP sell-outs.

Shame on Michigan’s SIX REPUBLICAN SELL-OUT MEMBERS OF CONGRESS who voted with Speaker John Boehner to approve President Obama’s plans to grant amnesty to over 5 million law breakers who entered the U.S. illegally.

As reported at BizPac Review, 75 Republicans voted against the majority of their party in the House (and the base of the party itself) – and locked ranks with Democrats – to help further Obama’s agenda to fundamentally transform America.  Six of the seventy-five RINO sellouts are from Michigan.  That means 6 out of 9 Michigan Republican members of Congress did Obama’s bidding.  The six Benedict Arnolds are:  Dan Benishek (MI-1), Mike Bishop (MI-8), Candice Miller (MI-10), John Moolenaar (MI-4), David Trott (MI-11), and Fred Upton (MI-6).  While it is not surprising to see some of these folks voted in favor of Obama’s agenda – again – in direct opposition to the base of the party, it is sad to note that so many of them are from Michigan.

As BizPac Review online observes:

Boehner and the Republicans who passed the bill picked the same day as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address before Congress — perhaps using it as cover to push the bill through with less major media attention.

While the House Republican sell-outs are a major problem in general, this vote is a major reminder of the necessity to continue cleaning house in the Michigan Republican Party as well.

Over the past six years, the number of grassroots activists in the Michigan Republican Party has grown massively.  Many times, we have faced opposition from the party’s top leaders in the state, but we have not given up.  We have just worked more deliberately to organize and activate fellow conservatives in our neighborhoods, and the fact is that grassroots conservatives now hold a majority of precinct delegate seats in the Michigan Republican Party.  It is painfully obvious, though, that this is not enough – not with votes like the March 3 sell-out to Obama’s radical agenda.

We have to do more.

If you are reading this, and you have not become more involved in the political process than you were six years ago, then WE NEED YOU.

The threat the president made to “fundamentally transform” America is being fulfilled, but his threat would not be made possible without (as Michelle Malkin terms them) the “Bend Over Republicans”.  We need your involvement to turn around the ship of state.

It won’t happen over night.

It won’t happen easily.

And, most significantly, it won’t happen without you, but if it doesn’t happen the alternative is that Obama will complete his self-declared mission to alter this nation forever, and folks, that is not something we can afford to let happen to our children and our children’s children.

Get involved with your local conservative grassroots activists.  Find out who you can trust (big hint:  they’re not best friends with the six sell-outs who voted for Obama’s amnesty).  Find out what you can do.
